Executive Director at the Levi Strauss Foundation. Formerly with the California Wellness Foundation, Hasbro Children’s Foundation, The Commonwealth Fund, and Pfizer Inc. Ms. Angeles is a board member of the Sisters of St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation, Confluence Philanthropy, and has held leadership roles with Grantmakers In Health and the Asian and Pacific Islander Health Forum and Funders Concerned About AIDS. She has an MPH from Columbia University and a BA from UC Berkeley.

SHANI BUGGS, PHD, MPH
Assistant Professor, Emergency Medicine at the University of California, Davis. As core faculty with the Violence Prevention Research Program and the California Firearm Violence Research Center, Dr. Buggs' expertise includes community-level gun violence prevention programs and policies, and comprehensive approaches to reducing violence through policies and programs at all levels of government. Prior to joining UC Davis, she worked for years with the Mayor's Office and other agencies in Baltimore, MD, to provide technical assistance to enhance the city's violence prevention strategies.

JOSEPH C. CHIANG, MD
Chief Medical Officer for the Greater Central Valley Market of Sutter Health. Dr Chiang previously served as Sutter Eden Medical Center’s Chief Medical Executive and Senior Regional Director of Operations at Vituity. He was also previously chair of the emergency departments at Memorial Medical Center – Modesto, San Joaquin General Hospital, and Memorial Hospital Los Banos. Dr. Chiang holds a BA from NYU, MBA from UMass, Amherst, and an MD from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

SARAH DE GUIA
CEO of ChangeLab Solutions, a national organization that advances equitable laws and policies to achieve better health for all. As CEO, Ms. de Guia oversees the implementation of the organization’s long-term goals, priorities, strategies, and budget. Previously, she served as executive director of the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network (CPEHN) working to expand access to quality, affordable health care for communities of color. Ms. de Guia currently chairs the advisory committee for the Office of Health Equity at the California Dept. of Public Health.

KENNETH L. MEEHAN
Former president and board chair at California Shock Trauma Air Rescue (CALSTAR). Mr. Meehan led the effort to find new ownership, resulting in its sale to REACH Medical Holdings. Subsequently, he and the board honored CALSTAR’s legacy by establishing the CARESTAR Foundation. Prior to his retirement in 2012, Mr. Meehan served as EVP and COO of John Muir Health in Walnut Creek, CA, and he currently serves on its charitable foundation board. He holds a BBA from Adelphi University and an MHA from Long Island University in New York.

Professor and vice-chair in the Department of Family Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, founding director of the UCLA Blum Center on Poverty and Health in Latin America, founding chair of the UCLA Global Health Minor, co-director of the UCLA Firearm Violence Prevention Center, and founding director of the Health Equity Network of the Americas, with representatives from 26 countries.

ERIC RUDNICK, MD
Dr. Rudnick pursued his medical education in Milwaukee, WI, and completed his Emergency Medicine residency in Lansing, MI. He later settled in Red Bluff, CA, where he worked in various emergency departments before focusing on EMS. Actively engaged at local and state levels, he advocates for rural Californians. With board certifications in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services, he has received accolades including State EMS Medical Director of the Year (2012). A Wound Care and Hyperbaric physician, he balances his clinical work with nature photography and travel with his wife.

SANDRA SHEWRY
Former vice president for external engagement at the California Health Care Foundation, where she led health policy communications and government relations. Ms. Shewry has also held roles as CEO of the Center for Connected Health Policy, director of the California Department of Health Care Services, and executive director of the California Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board. She has BA in community studies and psychology from UCSC, and MA in public health and social welfare from UC Berkeley.

Expert in EMS with 37+ years of experience, working in all ranks including field paramedic at Allied Ambulance in Oakland; dispatch captain with the San Francisco Department of Public Health Paramedic Division; and as SF Fire Department EMS Chief. Ms. Smith is a California paramedic; current EMS Authority Commissioner representing the California Rescue Paramedic Association (CRPA); Director with the California Paramedic Foundation (CAPF); and former chief executive officer of the SF Paramedic Association (SFPA).
